Sale Away With Me, Honey

I'm always pleased when the summer sales land before I've gone on my summer holiday and that has been the case this year. I decided to compile my sale buys from the last few weeks in one post so here it is.

URBAN OUTFITTERS
Unfortunately this was an in-store haul so I can't find the links for most of them. I always make a point of shopping the urban outfitters sales. They have huge reductions and lots of stock so you can usually find some great buys. I'd had my eye on that camouflage bikini for a while but couldn't face the price tag so imagine my delight when it was pretty much half price. Happy days indeed.
Multicoloured jumper - £45 £20 / Spot jumper - £30 £20
Floral top - £35 £15 / Stripe shirt - £32 £15 / Camo bikini - £70 £36

TOPSHOP
The Topshop sale is also always worth a visit and I think my best buy was the coord which would have been £74 full price but I paid £35 instead. A lot of coords are so expensive by the time you buy both pieces and as gorgeous as they are, the price just sometimes can't be justified for a casual outfit. I also took the opportunity to stock up on some handy camis - a necessity in summer.
Shell print dress - £50 £25 / Linen stripe top £32 £20 and shorts £32 £15
Peach satin midi skirt - £42 £20 / Palm print trousers £40 £20
Mustard cami £20 £10 / Cream cami £20 £10 / Palm cami £26 £12 / Poppy blouse £36 £18

ASOS
Last but not least, a whirlwind ASOS spree. I liked this popcorn bikini a while back but it is a bit novelty so a sale reduction was all the convincing I needed to snap it up. I've been considering a pair of le coq sportif trainers for a while as well, and I thought this would be a fun colour for summer. They're one of the most comfortable pairs of trainers I've ever worn and it's nice to have a slightly different pair than the obvious, popular ones a lot of people have!
Mesh floral tee - £25 £18 / Blue bandeau £8 £4.50
Popcorn bikini top £16 £8 and bottoms £14 £7

Have you been sale shopping?

Match Made in Heaven

Culottes - ASOS
Top - Topshop
Bag - Zara
Shoes - Next

These culottes are slightly different to the usual ones that we're seeing everywhere just now. They're a bit longer and good for a more casual, daytime look - I've rolled them up a couple of extra times for my short little legs. Aside from the culottes, I just went for simple, white additions with the crochet trim of the top making it a bit more exciting. Finally, I couldn't resist pairing the perfect match of the Zara bag to the culottes. Made in heaven, some might say!

Bargain Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit - Topshop
Belt - ASOS
Bag - Zara
Jacket - ASOS
Shoes - ASOS

This Topshop jumpsuit is definitely the best bargain I've had in a while. Coming in at a very reasonable £29 I think it's perfect for dressing up or down. It's made of a stretch jersey material making it really comfortable and the print is a real beaut! Win Win Win Win. The print has loads of different blue shades so I decided to accent these with the jacket, belt and bag. If there's a time for lots of colours, it's summer.

Grad Ball

The weekend before last brought the long anticipated uni grad ball weekend getaway. Despite the fact that we hadn't actually received our exam results at this point and, therefore, were unsure if we even would be graduating we went all out and had a two night extravaganza.

The weekend was held at the Crieff Hydro hotel in Perth which was absolutely stunning and the perfect location for the weekend.

We went up on the Friday morning and just had to take advantage of the sun so explored the hotel and it's surrounding. Never one to turn down a trampolining opportunity we pretended we were under 16 to have a go then obviously had to order cocktails after all that strenuous exercise.

Then it was time to get our glad rags on and prepare for the ball. I got this dress about 2 years ago from Tadashi Shoji for my 21st so decided to wear it again to get my money's worth and it also meant nobody would have the same one…result!

The next morning we forced ourselves out of bed for the hotel breakfast - which always makes you feel better - then went for a swim..cue everyone's spray tan coming off in the pool. In the afternoon we had outdoor activities which included sumo wrestling, an outdoor laser quest type thing and this beast of a climbing wall. After which, of course, more cocktails were necessary!

Night two was fancy dress night and this year the theme was 'Mad Hatter's Wonderland' so I decided to go as the man himself in a slightly less crazy way! I don't know if you remember me doing a '3 ways to wear..' series with this suit. Well here's a fourth.

On Sunday morning, after that breakfast again and brushing off another hangover it was home we went. It was such a fun weekend, and probably the last time we'll see the majority of our year for ages so was a nice send off!

That's All Folks

Coord - Topshop (top, shorts)
Sliders - Zara
Bag - Zara

Well, ladies and gentleman, the sun has arrived. Here's hoping it stays as gorgeously sunny as it's been the last couple of days. This was such a good outfit for a roasting day when you need comfort but don't want to look like a slob. There's something about a matching two piece that just makes you look put together and like you made an effort even when you haven't. They also require little thought; all I added was these fail safe Zara sliders and I was good to go. The only thing I would say is that I think I need to hit the bottle - of fake tan that is - before getting these pins out again until I go on holiday!

Kimono Picks

Pink Floral Kimono - Topshop; Rose Bikini - ASOS
White kimono - Topshop; White Swimsuit - French Connection
Orange Embroidered Kimono - Topshop; Colour Block Bikini - ASHISH x Topshop
Peacock Print Kimono - ASOS; Pineapple Print Bikini - Topshop
White Fringe Kimono - Topshop; Fringe Bikini - Mara Hoffman
Floral Fringe Kimono - Zara; Monochrome Bikini - Scandale Eclipse

I've never been wildly keen on the kimono. I've seen plenty of people style them to perfection as the ideal festival outfit addition but I've just never warmed to them. Probably because it's never warm enough here to wear just a kimono - heavy duty knitwear is normally required.
However, this season, a whole new concept has presented itself to me. Kimonos as a poolside cover up. Maybe I'm just horrendously late to the party on this one but this combination is forming the basis of my growing summer holiday wardrobe! With the huge variety of kimonos and swimwear in every shop just now there are endless options of ways to work this trend.
I've paired together some kimono-swimwear combos that I especially like. I have the pink floral kimono and rose bikini at the top right and can't wait to wear it on holiday, and I've had my eye on the Topshop X ASHISH bikini since it landed on the website so I have a feeling that may be the next addition to the collection. I also love the print overload of the ASOS peacock print kimono paired with the pineapple print Topshop bikini if you're looking to go all out; or go for elegance in head-to-toe white.
Something for everyone really!!

Gingham Peplum

Jacket - Massimo Dutti (similar)
Top - ASOS
Trousers - ASOS
Mules - Zara (similar)
Bag - Primark
Necklace - Topshop
Sunglasses - Rayban
Lipstick: MAC - Up the Amp

This was a hand-me-down / extended "borrow" from my Mum and it's perfect for these British summer days where it'll be sunny one minute and pouring the next. The metallic colour adds a bit of fun to a waterproof jacket. These Zara mules finally got an outing - the low heel makes them so wearable all day but they are also fancy enough to go out for a meal etc in. I went for the petite version of this ASOS gingham peplum top and it works a bit like a crop top so will be perfect for my summer hols which are just over 4 weeks away! Health kick starts this morning…let's see how long it lasts.

Summer Checks

Shirt - Topshop
Trousers - ASOS
Boots - ASOS
Bag - ASOS

The weather really is testing us these days. Approximately 30 minutes after these photos were taken a torrential downpour began, ruining those recently straightened locks of mine. These trousers are perfect for this pesky weather - light enough for when the sun makes an appearance but providing that all important leg coverage for the depressingly average temperatures.

This weekend I'm attending my first hen do - my fiancé's cousin - and I can't wait so I better go and pack!

Radio 1 Big Weekend

Although, it was actually over two weeks ago I've been meaning to write this post since then, life has just been hectic! So the Radio 1 Big Weekend came to Glasgow, in case you weren't aware, and it sure was brilliant! Unfortunately cute fringed floral festival clothes weren't on the menu as, being in Glasgow, it was obviously raining.

The line-up was amazing; full of my faves. Lily Allen actually turned out to be one of my faves of the weekend and I was really looking forward to seeing 'Chvrches' - that one was well timed as it was pouring outside so being in the tent was a welcome shelter. Then of course, the highlight of the weekend - Paolo - he certainly did not disappoint.

Lily Allen / CHVRCHES / The Vamps / Rita Ora

What a day-improver - finding £1 on the ground!

The Sun came out on Sunday - how appropriate

King Paolo

Katy Perry closing the show.

Yaay for a great weekend.

Linen

Jacket - Zara
Top - Topshop
Trousers - Zara
Sliders - Dune
Sunglasses - Rayban

I can only apologise for how raging I look in these photos - must be cause the sun refuses to come out. It's June for goodness sake! As long as it stays dry (a rare occurrence these days) sliders can add a hint of summer to an outfit. These Zara linen trousers are so comfy and make me feel like I'm on holiday - a winning combination - and you can never go wrong with a striped tee.
Now that the post-exam high is over it's time to start dreading the results - which is what I'll be spending the rest of my week doing!
